Great hunting lodge. Kyle was great and provided a good tour of the property and area. Bird hunting was good with a good mix of birds. House was clean and had everything we needed.
A group of longtime pheasant hunting friends from Michigan and Iowa finally made the trek to the Dakotas to hunt and stayed at Ed & Megan’s Rack Ranch in Firesteel. Booking was simple, communication was clear and responses timely, the Rack Ranch accommodated our group nicely and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The ranch was clean, functional and worked well for our group of 9. We are already discussing a return trip next year.
Wow this place is awesome. Me and my buddy came to prairie dog hunt. Ed and his son Mason were awesome, showed us the land gave us some history told us where to eat even gave us fresh steaks to cook on the grill I didn’t want to leave the house is great the ac will run you out it’s so cold. This place is super remote. It’s about 6 to 7 miles to the nearest house The views are amazing so glad we found the place can’t wait to go back. By the way we traveled 17 1/2 hrs to get there
I can’t describe how well Ed and Megan’s property fit exactly what our group needed. They are two of the nicest people I’ve met. When you leave here you’ve gained a friend. Ed went above and beyond to help us out on our trip. For our first trip looking for prairie dogs it whet better than expected. The scenery in that area was also a bonus. The property was described perfectly and was way nicer than expected. It really is a home away from home. We will for sure be back again!
Had a great stay, perfect lodging for a group and it is a beautiful property! First time we were out shooting prairie dogs and Ed was very helpful and went above and beyond with being available and responding to any questions we had.
This is it. Exactly what you’re looking for. You could book a hotel/motel with worse accommodations and still have to drive hours to your destination. Everything you need and more at a very reasonable rate.
The rack shack is spacious, clean, and very well equipped. Booked 3 nights for a weekend prairie dog shoot, had a blast. Plenty of action to keep us busy all day. Host was absolutely great to work with and went out of his way to help with fielding questions, giving directions, getting us set up, showing us around…Just a great person that was a real positive experience to meet and talk with. Amazing setup, beautiful country, great people.
